‘Britain’s Got Talent’ review: Looking back at Revelation Avenue, Isaac Washington, and the hypnotizing dog
We were away for this past weekend’s episode of “Britain’s Got Talent,” but since we are still very much into the season, we figured that before we got into the next installment, we’d play a little catch-up here and focus on some of the acts who were actually halfway decent from this past episode.
Lisa Sampson – There are many people out there who can do the same hula-hoop tricks that we saw Lisa do here. however, what makes some of them different on this particular occasion is that she has some real charisma to go along with these moves. This is the sort of thing that will sell her to an audience, and make her interesting once people have already seen her tricks.
Isaac Washington – You can tell that his voice is cracking, but for a 15-year old singer / pianist, Isaac has a whole lot of potential. He’ll probably make the live shows, but then face the challenge of the stage swallowing him whole.
Princess the Hypnodog – Yes, we do still have a very hard time with the legitimacy of a dog that is capable of hypnosis. Yes, at the same time it was decent entertainment. This is a silly show! While the idea of Simon Cowell pretending to be nice to people is hardly something real, it’s not like any of the acts during that segment were good in the first place.
IMD Legion – Right now, we’d put them under Boyband as our favorite dance act of the season. They need a little more of a theme to go with their dancing next time that we see them; there’s no doubting the ability, but at this stage you need more than moves.
Revelation Avenue – Amanda Holden’s golden-buzzer act is worth of it. They were really lovely to listen to, and more than that, we liked them because they weren’t just a choir standing there and singing. There was some soul, passion, and movement to them.
