Want to catch up before ‘Longmire’ season 4? Season 3 scores Netflix premiere date

Big news -We are now pleased to share what has to be one of our most-asked questions over the past several months: When in the world is “Longmire” season 3 coming to Netflix? Well, we can now officially tell you: May 1. The service announced the news on Thursday, meaning that you have now just over a week before getting to go back and watch these adventures commercial-free.

Typically with Netflix, shows tend to land on the surface within a few weeks before the start of a new season. With this being a somewhat-different situation, though, we imagined that studio Warner Horizon probably wanted at least a few weeks to make money on DVD sales, but still get it online so that there was ample opportunity for the show to find new fans. Given that the series does not premiere most likely until fall, you will have plenty of time. Heck, you can probably convince some of your buddies to go through and watch the entire series!

We spoke recently with cast member Cassidy Freeman, and one of the things that she spoke about was how there is a different, “bigger” feel to the show now that allows the team some more creative freedom. It should be excited to see what they come up with. Personally, we’re hoping for a season that is slightly more serialized, and will get to expand more upon the world created in the book series and then on A&E. Oh, and hopefully longer episodes as well.

There are two other good Netflix arrivals next month you should know about: “Royal Pains” season 6 is coming May 3, while May 26 will bring the first two seasons of another USA show in “Graceland.”
