‘Madam Secretary’ episode 20 preview: Henry, Stevie in degrees of trouble

Madam Secretary -On Sunday night’s “Madam Secretary” episode, Elizabeth McCord is going to realize probably even more than she has before now that there are some consequences to being Secretary of State that she did not expect. There is a clear parallel between what is happening to her husband and her daughter, even if one of them may be in more actual danger than the other. The sneak peeks below are some great evidence of it all.

1. Henry’s surprise – While in the middle of a speech, Henry is greeted by none other than … the Russian President? It’s a surprise, but probably not anywhere near as surprising as what could be coming up for him after this. We wonder if he will be saying that “it is an honor” to be around him if things go south rather quickly … and they have the potential to. This could be the crux of the conflict in this episode.

2. The briefing – When we started to watch this preview, we thought that chronologically it may have taken place before the events of the previous one. Judging from the end tag of it, our feelings have changed considerably. Elizabeth is called to the Situation Room (thankfully not the one with Wolf Blitzer) in order to take on what may be a serious issue.

3. Hard times ahead for Stevie – While she may be happy in her relationship with Arthur, the reality that she is facing here is that she is with a guy who is technically her boss, and that is a problem … or at least it could be. How we would describe the sneak peek below is a cold but honest representation of the truth. She has to realize here that there are people who would do almost anything in order to get at her mother, and they would leap on this as if it was prey.
