‘The Originals’ season 2, episode 18 video: Can Elijah and Marcel find a new ally?

Monday night’s new episode of “The Originals” is one that will once again revolve around politics in a way that only this show can. Specifically, what we are going to have a chance to see here is Marcel and Elijah go on a little bit of a recruiting mission in order to ensure that they get some of the help that they so desperately need.

Unfortunately, it not entirely clear at the moment if they are going to be getting anywhere close to the help that they desire. In the sneak peek below, you can see Charles Michael Davis and Daniel Gillies’ recruiting-mission-of-sorts, and it was certainly very entertaining to watch. However, at the same exact time these two have to realize that the witches are not the easiest allies in the world to recruit.

What we like about this preview more than anything else is the performance by Gillies, who continues to accentuate charm and manipulation like nobody’s business. He really is going to need these attributes if he wants to have a fighting chance of making this proposition into a success.

So what exactly are we seeing these characters fight for at the moment? The big thing here is that we are bracing to see the arrival of Dahlia, who may be one of the most formidable villains in the history of the show. She is smart, dangerous, and she has the potentially to destroy Klaus and his entirely family. We’ll have to see what happens next.
