‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 9 video: Don’s offer, Peggy’s rejection

One of the things that we lamented about the midseason premiere of “Mad Men” on Sunday night was the lack of something that we have long felt to be a major show staple: The ridiculous promo. For some reason (maybe we are just sadistic like this), we continue to enjoy watching these various clips spliced together, and taken completely out of context. We enjoy watching it every single season, mostly because it gives us an opportunity to still speculate on what lies ahead.

So even though there was no promo that aired directly after the episode Sunday, AMC did unveil a promo online this week that gives you a few “teases” as to what to expect next. As per usual, they are just as vague as ever.

1. Don Draper seems to be offering to go out with someone … but is it for business or pleasure?

2. Isn’t it nice to see more Harry Crane? We know from the synopsis for this episode that he is going to ask for Don’s “blessing” in something. As for what that “blessing” could be, we’ll have to wait and see.

3. Peggy seems to be rejecting someone in a meeting in her office. That has to hurt.

4. Roger is still inquisitive, and he also still has that ridiculous mustache that makes him look like an oil prospector.

Our biggest disappointment in watching this is the lack of Pete Campbell. Given that there are only six episodes left of the entire series, we really hope that we do get something more from him before the series ends.
