‘The Price Is Right’ model Manuela Arbelaez goes viral after in-game blunder
Sometimes, the most memorable moments in game-shot history are the ones where things go terribly off-the-rails, and there is no better example at the moment than what happened with “The Price Is Right” today and model Manuela Arbelaez today. She was doing her job during one of the games involving a new car, which basically revolved around her ripping off various price tags with prices listed. The problem here is that the contestants are supposed to guess first.
In the video below, you can see Arbelaez suffer what we presume is a temporary lapse, accidentally pulling off the second price tag before prompted to do so. When it was revealed that this was the winning tag, the audience was temporarily confused … and then Drew Carey gave her the prize anyway! This is somewhat uncharted territory on the show, but there have been similar situations before. The second video we have for you is from years ago, where a controversy still brews over whether or not a contestant deliberately cheated during a game of Flip Flop, revealing the answer and not following the game’s instructions. Bob Barker gave him the prize, but also referred to him as a “troublemaker.”
There is no ambiguity here. It was clearly an accident, and thankfully not one that is going to cause Arbelaez her job. In a post on Twitter below, she makes it clear that everything is fine. For a moment, though, you can see her thinking the worst is coming by her hiding behind the price tags. We imagine that she was picturing in her mind a situation similar to that cliffhanger game.
