Is ‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5, episode 20 new tonight on CBS?

Hawaii -You’ve had a chance to travel to Hawaii (at least via your imagination) quite a bit this season, mostly due to the fact that “Hawaii Five-0” has a massive 25-episode order for its current fifth season. For the record, this is the longest order for any scripted network series this year. (“Pretty Little Liars” on ABC Family also has 25.)

So while this large order has given you a real chance to watch a number of new episodes play out on CBS, that doesn’t mean you are getting to check one out tonight … or next week either, for that matter. The show is going on hiatus due to the NCAA Tournament this week, which is something that you see around this time on the network every season. The show will come back on Friday, April 2 with the first of the final six episodes of the series. Based on what we’ve heard (read more over at this link), it should be a big story for Chi McBride and the character of Grover.

So what about the stories that come following this? The jury is still out, but unless the show pulls some sort of two-hour finale event out of nowhere, the earliest it could end is on Friday, May 7. Our feeling right now is that this will be the finale date, and then the next week CBS will air a two-hour finale for “The Amazing Race.”

The larger question fans should wonder right now is if this show will be renewed for a sixth season. Right now, we’d say that it is fairly likely. The ratings are not tremendous, but it feels like “Stalker,” “CSI: Cyber,” the original “CSI,” “Battle Creek,” and to a certain extent even “The Amazing Race” are the more likely contenders to go out the door.
