‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 17 preview: See Michael Weatherly, Robert Wagner in ‘Artful Dodger’ sneak peeks

Ready for “NCIS” to return with another new episode? We have a pretty strong indication that you are going to enjoy Tuesday night’s “The Artful Dodger.” This one features the return of Robert Wagner as Anthony DiNozzo Sr., and it appears that there will be a mixture of father / son time coupled with him helping out on the latest case. We’ve got video evidence proving all of this and then some below.

1. How Tony Sr. first shows up – This ultimately seems to be based around one simple thing: Linda has left Senior, and he is trying to get over that by listening to Junior’s breakup mix. The timing here could not be any more weird, given that Junior is actually in a seemingly-health relationship with Zoe at the moment. You don’t see or hear the character, but Tony is talking to her on the phone when he sees his dad inside his apartment.

2. Tony Sr. joins the team – Given his connections to members of the art world, he ends up becoming a valuable component of the mission this week. Not only that, but Tony Jr. is going to feel a little left out when he arrives, and realizes that the majority of the plans have already been put in place without him. If he already feels like he is hiding somewhere within his father’s shadow, this is almost certainly not going to help.

Ultimately, we expect this episode to be a whole lot of fun judging from these previews. Maybe CBS is luring us into a false sense of security, but there doesn’t seem to be a major reason to worry.
