‘Empire’ episode 9 preview: Cookie goes after Anika like never before

Is the honeymoon between Anika and Lucious over before the wedding even happens on “Empire”? That’s something that we at least have to consider, after watching the latest preview for Wednesday night’s new episode.

In a new preview, you can see Cookie storming in right when Anika and Lucious are seemingly meeting with their wedding planner. Why? She thinks that she has all of the evidence that she finally needs in order to fully expose her as someone who is completely out for his money, and really has zero interest in anything else. Cookie is loud, brash, and basically … well, she’s Cookie. She is exactly what you would want her to be and then some.

While there is no definitive proof that Lucious is going to send her astray now, maybe he’ll at least think about it a little bit more than he did previously. After all, we feel like it could very much behoove him to consider his options. What’s the point of rushing now, except for the sole fact that there are only a small handful of episodes left this season? That is really the only thing you need to remember here as you watch some of these scenes.

We’re honestly not sure what we want to see from “Empire” before the series comes to a close. All we know is that the more we see confrontations between Cookie and Anika, the happier we’re going to be in the end.
