‘House of Cards’ season 3: See ‘Sesame Street’s’ brilliant Frank Underwood parody
“Sesame Street” has been spoofing pop culture for some time, and we are very pleased today to report that the group at Sesame Workshop still has it.
In the video below, you can watch what we personally feel to be a rather inspired new video that perfectly skewers the popular Netflix drama, complete with a Big Bad Wolf standing in for Frank Underwood. Somehow, this wolf does a very good job of replicating Kevin Spacey, and goes through an entire bit about various building materials. In terms of educational content, this one is probably a little bit clunkier than some of the other amazing parodies that Sesame Workshop has come up with over the years … but they can’t all be absolutely perfect in that sense.
Overall, we still love the mission statement and the execution of most of these videos. After all, “Sesame Street” continues to think up some interesting ways to ensure that both children and adults tune in for this content. Parodying popular shows is a way to better ensure that adults watch alongside their children; this is why there have been “Sons of Anarchy” and “Downton Abbey” parodies on the show already, even though neither one of these is meant for a young audience on their own. The show finds a way to really make these kid-friendly clips go viral.
For those who have not heard, the third season of “House of Cards” is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday. In other words, you have a ton of catching up to do if you really love this show.
