ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Latest progress report for Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, cast
On Monday night, ABC is going to air what should be a pretty fantastic episode of “Castle” in “Resurrection.” After all, it features the return of 3XK, and showrunner David Amann is writing it. (For the unaware, typically episodes written by showrunners are the ones that happen to be of the greatest significance.)
While you prepare to watch this, do you care to know just where the show is in production? In a post on Twitter, director Jann Turner shared not only a photo featuring Nathan Fillion, but she also confirmed that the show is in production on the seventh episode of the season. This means that the show is a few episodes ahead of where they are currently in terms of airing, but we figure that it may still be a while before this one airs. Why? While we know that the next three episodes are being shown in succession, it may make some sense to have a short hiatus in early March. You’re going to be off one week for the finale of “The Bachelor” anyway, so why not line this up with the premiere of “Dancing with the Stars”? They’ve done that in the past.
Also, there is the whole issue of there only being 23 episodes a season, and there are many more weeks from September until May. There’s going to be repeats at some point, so we might as well accept that.
While the promotional material for the 3XK saga has tried to make it clear that Beckett is in danger, don’t worry too much: We’d eat that plastic coffee cup in the picture below if Stana Katic was actually leaving the show. It’s not happening.
If you’ve got a hankering for more “Castle” news, be sure to go watch the “Resurrection” sneak peek right now. Also, you can sign up to acquire some further updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)

All I can say is they better NOT kill off Beckett because the show would
go down the tubes in a hurry! It’s not that she’s any better than
Castle … but she is an integral part of the show. With just Castle in
the show, or just Beckett in the show, the CHEMISTRY is gone. Those two actors have GREAT chemistry
on screen. This is one of the BEST shows my husband and I have seen in a
long, long time!! We are both HOOKED on it. There are way too FEW
great mystery movies with funny parts and intense serious parts and great
romantic parts in them. Most stuff on TV these days are TRASH but
Castle (Castle and Beckett) is a true shining GEM! We have lots of
friends who are also equally hooked on the show. So, all I’ve got to
say is the bad guy had BETTER NOT win this time!! I won’t be the only
angry fuming fan!! There used to be some really good shows like Flashpoint and Rookie Blue or the Mentalist, shows with good storylines and twists and turns and teh HUMAN element, but of course, they were ended way too soon. When the producers or powers that be get a really good show, with just the right chemistry, they need to keep it going!! Castle has some GREAT writing, storylines, twists and turns, some predictability, but also some surprises. They just better not write out either of their major stars! That would just be S-T-U-P-I-D!!

I certainly hope that your assurance regarding the question of Stana leaving the show is correct. But in that industry nothing can be 100%. I know Rueben was not considered a lead character but I did not in any way anticipate he would leave. After all George Clooney left ER.
I know Stana’s contract is ending but more importantly the thing that is shady is the tone of the episodes now. Listening to Stana’s interview I determined her to be a person who has a need for intellectual stimulation and challenging material. Except for Driven I have encountered neither. I have been skipping episodes because I found myself not concentrating because is lack of interest. Let’s just say they have been a bit boring and forgettable.
Castle has become just another show to catch if you have nothing to do. And sometimes not even then.
I was not aware how Stana was able to drive this show until she was not driving the show. I guess I took things for granted. Somehow she brings a little something extra (no, a lot of something extra) to her scenes and the show. Her facial expressions alone are worth discussing after the show has aired. I saw a comment once that said Stana does not act Beckett, Stana, feels Beckett and the audience can detect that. I miss that. if she does leave I would understand but I leave with her.
The previews of the 2-parter have captured my interest and I will check them out and hope that they recapture the show that made me a fan.
That is, good story telling and good acting, especially from Stana.

This entire “news” article is not news, it is not a spoiler nor teaser either. My iPhone says that it was released 6 hours ago. Obviously it is a typo and should have said 6 Days ago. We have already read a bit of a hint about episode 16 so why not a hint about episode 17 since they are working on Day 8 of it? With regard to Stana I hope she will make it back for a few more seasons but it is her choice. The determining factor may be other choices that she might have. I have seen some of her appearances in TV shows and movies and have not been impressed by the overall production (though her acting was great )except for For Lovers Only which is soft porn or porn by innuendo. I am waiting to see The Tourist when or if it is released to see if there is improvement in the movies and TV shows ( notice I did not say her acting). I certainly look forward to more of Stana’s acting – she can say more with facial expression and body language alone than many actors with tons of dialogue. Plus, Stana and Nathan are a match made for success.

She’s not leaving. The two-parter is episodes 14 and 15 and there are behind-the-scenes pictures of her filming episode 16. Besides, why would they just write off a lead in the middle of the season? Makes no sense.

I think the fiasco of the Season 6 finale made a lot of the Fandom mad & unforgiven, hopefully you return will be steady & you will enjoy Castle again. Granted some of the Season 7 episodes were flat, We lost some of the most prolific Castle writers but I understand that they wanted to move on. I find that I have to watch some of Season 7 episodes twice because it didn’t grabbed me the first time. I quit watching the sneak peeks & I think that is solving my problem. I agree with some of your comments & I hope too that the show could return to be successful once again.
