‘The Bachelor’ notes: Jordan Branch responds; Kelsey Poe tackles internet hate
How about a double-dose of “Bachelor” news today? In the wake of the craziness from this past episode there are a variety of different stories worth discussing, but we have to begin here with some of the first comments that Jordan Branch made about her experience coming back onto the show.
In the end, this did not work out well for Jordan, since she was shunned by some of the women and was sent back home again almost immediately. Why did she even decide to drive all the way down to New Mexico? As she tells ABC News, a good bit of it seemed to revolve around trying to buck how she felt she was going to be portrayed during the early going:
“I wanted to do what I could as far as trying to mend this. I didn’t want to be known as ‘the drunk girl,’ and I didn’t get to spend that time with him … I didn’t want to have regret, and I felt like I would.”
Kelsey is ultimately just one of these contestants who has to look at this as a learning experience, and realize that if you give this show in particular anything that they can use for entertainment, they’ll use it. It doesn’t matter if it makes you look bad in the process.
Kelsey Poe vs. hate – It has been somewhat interesting seeing what the internet reaction has been to Kelsey Poe’s antics on the show the past two weeks, and we do feel like by and large, this is probably not anywhere near meriting the bizarre sort of personal attacks that we’ve seen on social media. Her complaining about the lake date was actually somewhat relatable, and after watching the episode Monday, we understand her wanting to tell Chris Soules the truth about her late husband.
Ultimately, we still cannot say for sure what was going on with the panic attack; maybe it was strategy, or maybe it wasn’t. Either way, why freak out at her over it? Kelsey may be getting just as hate online as Tierra, and we don’t think she is anywhere near that level of “Bachelor” villainy yet. We’ll get a better sense as to what her real motives are on Monday.
