‘American Idol XIV’ video: Trevor Douglas looks to impress at Hollywood Week

If you are competing on “American Idol” this season, we have a message for you: Watch out for Trevor Douglas. We already know that this guy is a pretty good singer and musician, but we’ve also seen online that he is building a sizable fan following. This shouldn’t surprise anyone: He is a young male guitar player that has some of that quirky-geek style going on that is extremely popular (yes we used “geek” and “popular” in the same sentence and it’s weird to us too).

In the video below, you can see Trevor doing what he can to try to impress some people at Hollywood Week. Will it work? It certainly seems like most signs are pointing to “yes,” doesn’t it? This performance here is pretty great (at least to us), but at the same time, we feel like it is fairly clear that not everyone out there is going to like it. Trevor has a different vibe than your standard singer, and that means that not everyone is going to love it.

While we’re still not entirely sure on if we are going to see this guy in the top 24, it does feel pretty clear that he makes it past this part of the competition. Group night will probably be when some of the bigger challenges start to arrive.

On a slightly different note, we do like how the other contestants watch you perform during this week. This is really the only time in the competition where you have this sort of vibe. It can be very fun, but also intimidating.
