‘Arrow’ season 3 video: John Barrowman reflects on winter finale events
In this clip released by the The CW, Barrowman explains that his personal opinion is that he actually believed that Malcolm wanted Oliver to make it through the fight alive, and genuinely thought that he could take him out in the duel. Obviously, there was probably also a part of this character who really wanted to see that happen for the sake of his own self-preservation. Just remember for a minute here that Merlyn and Ra’s have a history, and he is doing his own fair share of running at the moment. He was already willing to hypnotize Thea Queen in order to kill Sara Lance.
While Malcolm fluttered in and out throughout most of the first half of the season, we would tell you right now to expect much more of him in the second half. We already know that he has an episode coming that will focus much more on his past, especially when it comes to how he ended up becoming the evil schemer that he now is following the death of his wife. It is relatively hard to believe, but at one point he may have actually been a pretty good person.
You can expect the winter premiere “Left Behind” to air Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we will be back not too long after that with a preview of everything that will be coming up afterwards.
