‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5 spoilers: New promo hints at secrets, crime-solving

In exactly one month from today, the secret is going to be out when it comes to “Rizzoli & Isles” … or at least this is what the new promo below teases. The biggest thing that it does do to get us excited is mostly just remind us about why we enjoy the show so much in the first place. There are some intense cases, but there are also some that present to us the lighter side of police work.

After a pretty heavy first half of the season that featured Jane losing her baby and a memorial service for Frost, we have to say that we are ready for something that is not anywhere near as heavy to watch. Based on this promo, we feel like fun is the direction that the show is heading. There are some good quips in here, and also a few classic Jane / Maura teamwork snippets.

As for what the larger stories will be, though, that is still a little bit of a mystery. The one thing that we can really count on is friendship being a theme, and no matter what these two women go through, they are always going to have each other to rely on.

For fans of the show, what you can rely on (if you are concerned about the series’ future) is a helpful hint that it is not going anywhere in the near future. TNT already renewed it for a sixth season, and that should premiere at some point this summer. It’ll probably be a while before we have any news on that, though.
