Golden Globes 2015: Will ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘House of Cards,’ or ‘The Good Wife’ take top prize?
In the wake of no more “Breaking Bad,” and with “True Detective” being considered a miniseries by the Hollywood Foreign Press, we are in a very interesting position right now when it comes to the Golden Globes and the Best TV Series, Drama category. We’re not sure that there is an overwhelming favorite of the group. You have a few shows who could theoretically win, though we do think that it is a race between only three of the five that are nominated.
Who knows, though? The HFPA has been notorious when it comes to delivering big surprises, and that is something that they could do yet again here with such an open race.
The nominees – “Game of Thrones” (HBO), “House of Cards” (Netflix), “The Good Wife” (CBS), “The Affair” (Showtime), “Downton Abbey” (ITV).
What should win – We feel like this really should be the year for “Game of Thrones.” While we wouldn’t say that they had anything on par with the Red Wedding, they had for the most part a ridiculously consistent season with impressive action, great performances, and stunning visuals. We don’t know what more that you can ask for with this show, which is always the bridesmaid, but never the bride at awards shows.
What will win – Given all of the talk about how streaming is the future, wouldn’t it be ironic if a network show won? We feel like “The Good Wife” has the inside path. It, “Game of Thrones,” and “House of Cards” are the contenders, but the latter two will be hurt by airing so early in the year.
What do you want to see win this category?
