‘The Musketeers’ season 2, episode 2 preview: What lies ahead for d’Artagnan?

Musketeers -What is going on these days with “The Musketeers“? As much as we want to ask this particular question, we are also forced to ponder what in the world is going on with the BBC. This is a show that seemed to at least be a modest hit last year, but the network has not done the show many favors this time around. The series was slightly promoted, but not so much that we were particularly aware of its premiere in 2015; not only that, but the shift to Friday night is questionable, since it led to a disappointing start to the ratings this year.

Could you attribute some of that to the exit of Peter Capaldi? Sure, but the timeslot to us is still the main offender.

Regardless of our qualms here, there is another episode airing this week that seems to be fairly fun, especially as we bear witness to a rescue mission revolving around King Louis and d’Artagnan. We cannot share what exactly happens just yet, but the synopsis below should at least give you a few basic details in terms of what to expect:

“King Louis demands to experience the life of his carefree subjects, but his night of fun quickly comes to an end when he and d’Artagnan are mistaken for commoners and kidnapped by the notorious criminal Lemaitre to be sold to Spain as slaves.

“The musketeers must find and rescue d’Artagnan and the king. Can they save Louis from mortal danger and will they return him to the palace in time for the dauphin’s christening?”

We will be back tomorrow with a sneak peek, but for now, let us know what you think about the season so far with a comment! Also, sign up to get some other worthy TV scoop on all we cover via our official CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: BBC.)
