TV Quick Hits: ‘About a Boy’ season 2 trimmed; ‘Daredevil’ premiere date; ‘Parenhood’ season 6 news
It’s been quite a while since a TV Quick Hits article has surfaced here at CarterMatt, but there’s a pretty simple reason for that: The month of December was not exactly a month where the news runneth over to the point where we needed to serve you some bite-size pieces.
Now that we’re back in January, though, it feels like many networks were collectively saving all of their stories for now. With that, here are a few assorted stories that you may have understandably missed during your scouring of the internet for TV news.
“About a Boy” season 2 order cut – This may not be a huge shock, but NBC has cut back on their episode order from 22 to 20. Given the state of the network’s comedies this year, we don’t think they are particularly desperate to give any of them that much time on TV. It’s a shame here, though, since this show originally had so much hope and promise behind it.
“Daredevil” premiere date – The upcoming Marvel Netflix series starring the blind superhero (played by Charlie Cox) will premiere on Friday, April 10. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson and “True Blood” alum Deborah Ann Woll.
In case you are wondering about some other upcoming Netflix series, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” a show that moved to the service after not being ordered on the TV level, starts on March 6. Meanwhile, “Grace & Frankie,” featuring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, will be around come May 8.
“Parenthood” teasers – As you get near the series finale of this particular NBC hit, it should not be a surprise that there are many major developments ahead. Specifically, TV Guide hints at a possible wedding, though there may be a few little roadblocks in the way of it actually coming to fruition in the way that it is planned. It’s just something to keep watch for while we near the series finale.
