Ratings: ‘Gotham’ episode 11 wins night; ‘The Bachelor,’ ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ down

As it turns out, Monday night ended up being quite a big winner for “Gotham.” After spending many weeks losing to “The Voice,” Fox managed to do something at 8:00 p.m. Eastern that they have not managed to do a whole lot of lately: Actually win a timeslot overall.

Overall, the Ben McKenzie series rose from its winter finale to a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is a nice testament to the growth that the show demonstrated near the end of the fall half of its season. This is one of its highest ratings in some time, and it’s a shame that “Sleepy Hollow” (1.6) was not helped out much more than it was.

This rating was easily enough to defeat the massive three-hour premiere of “The Bachelor” (2.2), which was down from where it was at the start of this past year with Juan Pablo Galavis. To be fair, we feel like this number may be a little skewed by people seeing that the first hour was mostly filler, and then tuning out before coming back for the actual start of the episode at around 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

We were impressed perhaps most of all with the performance of a certain “Celebrity Apprentice,” which kept most of its rating in scoring a 2.1. This is proving to us that there is still value in this franchise, and if the numbers decline moving forward, it will mostly be because viewers are dissatisfied with losing both Gilbert Gottfried and Kevin Jonas in the span of one night. Still don’t love what Donald Trump decided by the end of the episode.
