‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Exec gives hope in terms of Claire Holt’s future

Rebekah -Is it possible that we still are going to see plenty more of Claire Holt on “The Originals“? While “plenty more” may be somewhat of an oversell, early indications do make us believe that the original role of Rebekah is far from coming to an end on the series.

Specifically, executive producer Michael Narducci tells TVLine that while the character may be in a new body moving into the second part of this season, “there are plenty of flashback [opportunities] to explore what Rebekah has been doing for the past 1,000 years.” Ultimately, we do feel as though much of it will depend mightily on what the showrunners / writers come up with, and then the availability of Holt to return. After all, the actress is seemingly out looking at other projects, and auditioned for the part in the upcoming “Supergirl.”

We understand the value of bringing these characters into new bodies, at least in that it ensures that there are specific uses for people that many consider to be rather beloved. However, at the same time, there are some other problems that come along with it, specifically in that you make things rather confusing, and there is always going to be a contingent of people who prefer to see the original actor (pun intended in the role).

For the time being, we’ll give the writers a little bit of hope / confidence that the new Rebekah will prove to be entertaining in her own right.
