‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Sebastian Roche of ‘The Originals’ cast in regal role

Once -Great news for all of those who love Sebastian Roche: You now have another great show to check him out on!

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, the actor, best known for “Supernatural” and “The Originals” these days, has been cast on “Once Upon a Time” season 4 to play the part of King Stefan, the father of Sleeping Beauty a.k.a. Aurora (Sarah Bolger). As of right now, this gig is only for one episode, but what is noteworthy here is that his character has some sort of history with Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten), one of the three Queens of Darkness who are going to dominate screen time in the second part of this season.

This is a casting that is very easy to like, and it does open up all sorts of possibilities for how the Maleficent story will be told on this show. Remember here that even thought there was that big Angelina Jolie movie that came out earlier this year, the show is not really holding itself to any obligation that it has to follow a similar path. They have their own plans for this character, and that will unfold as we start to get to know her better.

As for when the second part of this season is returning, think along the lines of Sunday, March 3 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. From there, you will have new episodes airing on ABC (most likely) every week until the season ends.
