‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 5 preview: What’s in ‘The Silver Briefcase’?

Tonight’s new episode of “The Mentalist” was a story that actually did not feature a whole lot of Patrick Jane in it, and with that in mind, we are rather happy that next week’s “The Silver Briefcase” looks to be throwing the character right back into the fold.

Want some specifics about what you can expect in this story? Well, let’s start things off right now by sharing the short synopsis of what you can expect courtesy of CBS:

“A chance encounter with a military colonel leads Jane to believe the soldier is hiding something, leading him to dig into closed murder case of the man’s wife.”

As of right now, we would say that one of the things that we are really anticipating here is just a mental mindgame in terms of whether or not there is anything of interest in a silver briefcase that is uncovered. Basically, Jane and Lisbon have to do almost everything that they can in order to keep themselves from opening it.

One other thing that may make this episode fun is that it is directed by Simon Baker, which means that there is that much more of a personal touch to it.

There are going to be some fun moments hopefully in this episode, and we really do hope for that especially after what was at times a pretty touch hour of TV tonight … especially for the Abbott character.
