‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: ’24’ alum, ‘Castle’ guest to appear

The latest casting news for “The Vampire Diaries” season 6 is going to be very big, and it will especially feel that way if you are a big fan of “24.”

According to a new report right now from TVLine, Annie Wersching, who also has an upcoming appearance or two on “Castle,” is set to also appear on The CW series in the 15th episode this season as Lily, a woman who is described as cunning, intelligent, and beautiful. She is going to do just about everything that she can to protect someone she loves, but the question the remains here is just who this “someone she loves” really is.

The one thing that has us especially curious about this casting at the moment is that Wersching is a big enough name that we don’t foresee her coming aboard the show unless her character is especially significant. Therefore, we’re hoping for some big and great things here!

New episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” season 6 are not going to resume until Thursday, January 22 on The CW, but we know that they are going to continue from there moving forward for at least the next month and a half without interruption (at least per previous years’ patterns).
