‘Fargo’ season 2 spoilers: Kirsten Dunst, ‘Breaking Bad’ alum snag lead roles
Just in case you were not excited enough for the second season of “Fargo” to premiere on FX next year, we have some further news that will probably have you even more on edge.
The network announced that that movie actress Kirsten Dunst (go watch “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” for a showcase of her ability) and Jesse Plemons (Todd on “Breaking Bad”) have each been cast on the drama series in substantial roles.
Specifically, Dunst has the part of Peggy Blomquist, described as “a small town beautician with big city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with traditional societal expectations.” Meanwhile, Plemons is “a butcher’s assistant [named Ed] who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.” Ed also happens to be Peggy’s husband.
There are no other actors confirmed at the moment for season 2 of the show, though we know that Jeffrey Donovan of “Burn Notice” fame is all but confirmed. Meanwhile, producers really want Nick Offerman for a part, but there is no word on if the “Parks and Recreation” star is going to want to take on another job so quickly after his current one ends.
The biggest thing at the moment to remember and be excited about is merely that there are so many great people involved with this show from top to bottom, and hopefully, executive producer Noah Hawley is being given enough time to get together another great ten-episode story. We would much rather have a great season than one that is rushed out to appease fans.
