‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: Be prepared for more Catherine Avery

Should you be surprised that Debbie Allen is returning to “Grey’s Anatomy” for more screen time? You really shouldn’t be. At this point, we imagine that Catherine Avery is, as a character, always going to be a part of the show in some shape or form.

In the post below from her Twitter, you at least get the sense that Allen is going to be heading back on the show for a little more fun courtesy of Catherine Avery. Strangely, we have a feeling that she won’t be doing some of these same poses on the show itself (though that would be fun).

Given April’s pregnancy, there is a whole lot of ground that could be covered with this character in the weeks and months ahead, and we can only hope that the show decides to take a good bit of that on. There really was not enough April and Jackson on the first half of the season for our liking. We imagine that a good bit of this harkens back to the fact that Meredith had so much going on, and the show really needed to put some time and effort into establishing her place in the world of the show following Cristina’s departure.

We’ll get a chance to see more of the future on “Grey’s Anatomy” starting on January 29, which is when the entirety of the Shonda Rhimes lineup comes back onto ABC.
