‘The Flash’ winter finale spoilers: Reverse Flash reveals himself (sort of) in trailer

The CW clearly wants to give you yet another reason to be excited over the winter finale for “The Flash.” The network just released the first extended trailer for “The Man in the Yellow Suit,” and made it pretty clear in the process that we are going to see Reverse Flash in action.

With this being said, there is still no guarantee that you are going to find out just who this villain really is. In the trailer, he appears to be doing the same thing to obscure his identity that Barry has as the Flash has, in between moving his face quickly and also masking his voice.

Of course, the question of who this character is will likely take some time to figure out. There is obviously the comic book as a source material, and there will be some theories extracted from that about his identity. That doesn’t mean, though, that the show needs to be true to them. “Arrow” clearly has not been when it comes to all of its villains, whether you are talking about the Dark Archer or Deathstroke. There’s no reason to think that a shake-up is in order.

Ultimately, though, we do feel like here that some of the show’s key themes so far, including loyalty and the subtle presence of time-travel, are going to play a major role in this story before we completely see it come to a close.
