‘The Last Ship’ season 2: The latest small Eric Dane update
As we’ve learned over the past month or so, TNT’s “The Last Ship” really does run a tight ship when it comes to production. They don’t release a whole lot of information about what is coming up, just as they also did not release many plot points last year. So much of this show is about the surprise, and they cannot ruin that!
What we can at least tell you for now is that the cast and crew did get a little bit of time off for the Thanksgiving holiday. In a post on Twitter, star Eric Dane confirmed that he is heading back to work on the show Monday after a break. He also said that when it comes to stunts, he basically does however many of them that he is allowed to. For those who love the authentic experience, while the studio still protects the investment of the star, that is nice to hear.
There are thirteen episodes coming up this summer, and for the most part, you can expect a whole lot of what you may have loved from the first season of the show. This includes a variety of surprises, action sequences, and maybe a little bit of hope here and there that Chandler and company can solve their crisis.
In a way, the show has the same interesting dilemma that “The Walking Dead” does. You cannot have them find safety and peace too quickly, since you really would lose much of the drama of the show. Therefore, you have to find a way to keep that struggle going, while still keeping it fresh at the same time.
If you did miss this earlier this month, it was announced that a recent “Sons of Anarchy” star will be boarding “The Last Ship” this coming season. Read more about that here. Also, you can sign up to get some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: TNT.)
