Golden Globes 2015: First promo featuring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey

Are you ready for awards season to be here? We definitely hope so, since January is not that far away.

For us, there could not be a better show to kick this off than the Golden Globes, mostly because of their inspired hosting choices. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are by and large comedic gold. They are extremely funny apart, and then somehow even funnier together. They were also great the past two years of being serious where they needed to be, but also really funny. They bridge the gap well between treating the celebrities well, and roasting the heck out of them. This is where Ricky Gervais tended to polarize people during his last turn on the show.

The first promo featuring Tina and Amy for this year’s show is below, and for the most part, we’d say that it is pretty funny and charming. There is not anything in here that will completely redefine the way you view entertainment, but it is about as pleasant as a thirty-second promo for this big show can be.

As for the favorites, we’re not really keeping up with the movies; in the world of TV, “True Detective” is sure to be a major candidate, but be on the lookout for “Mad Men,” “Orange Is the New Black,” and “Game of Thrones.” “Sons of Anarchy” could be a sleeper here, given that this is the final season, and the Hollywood Foreign Press in the past have chosen to honor Katey Sagal for her role as Gemma.

We’ll find out the full nominations for this show in the weeks ahead, so be on the lookout for this.
