‘Gotham’ episode 11 preview: Ben McKenzie, cast return in 2015
Tonight’s new “Gotham” was the fall finale, and with that obviously comes one key word: “Finale.” There is not going to be another new episode of the Fox series starring Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue until 2015.
Unfortunately, there has not been a whole lot of information regarding the show’s return other than that, and something key to remember here is that the network may not be altogether interested in getting ahead of itself here. There are still a good 12 episodes still to air, but they have to cover more than five months now until finale season in May. That means that we would not be shocked if there is a lengthy hiatus, and then the show returns in a matter of months.
With all of this being said, nothing is confirmed beyond that the show will be back at some point in the first few months of the year, and there is quite an interesting cliffhanger to be resolved: Jim Gordon getting into Arkham Asylum. Basically, this was not a matter of choice so much as necessity. If he didn’t do this, he would have to quit.
In some ways, Gordon’s actions her are emblematic of much of the attitude many of the characters on “Gotham” should and do have right now when it comes to their lives: They don’t give up. While he has been knocked back, he is probably going to find a way to use this asylum to his advantage. Who knows? Maybe along the way, he will meet a few new people, as well, who are useful to him.
