‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: Broadway vet cast in extremely secretive role
“Homeland” has a big secret, and we are getting closer and closer to it coming to light. With all of this being said, though, we recommend pretty strong that if you want to be surprised by events later this season, stop reading now. We don’t want to be the guilty party if you feel spoiled here in any way.
Still here? Well, take a look below the jump to see the big surprise, which we honestly never saw coming.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Broadway veteran and Tony-winning actress Victoria Clark has been cast to play … Carrie’s mother. That’s all that we can say right now, since Showtime wants no other information out there. This is still huge news, and it could change the game for the entire series if she starts to interact with her daughter.
Of course, this is not going to be any sort of replacement at all to losing the fantastic James Rebhorn. The actor played the part of Carrie’s father on the first three seasons of the show, but unfortunately passed away before getting to be a part of the story this time around.
What we’re mostly curious about is how in the world Clark is even going to have a chance to fit in with this story, given that there is so much going on here already when it comes to Saul’s capture, Carrie’s missions, and her also keeping herself from completely falling apart. There were a few times this season when we were almost positive that this was something that would be on the table.
