MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4: Which star just received huge Golden Globes honor?

It is not that often that you get to do anything at the Golden Globes, and that is what must be making Greer Grammer rather happy right now.

Today, it was announced by Hollywood Foreign Press President Theo Kingma that Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer and star on MTV’s “Awkward,” will be Miss Golden Globe for the annual ceremony airing on NBC next year. This is an honor typically bestowed to a descendant of a past Golden Globe winner; last year, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter Sosie had the title. Miss Golden Globe is responsible for helping to hand off the trophies, and usher the performers to and from the stage.

In a statement, Kingma had the following to say:

“She’s following in her father’s footsteps in becoming a standout actress, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”

Grammer plays Lissa on the MTV comedy, and is in the middle of what we would consider to be a breakout year for the character. She has been a very tightly-wound person for most of the show’s run, but in between her relationship with Tyler and a suspension for accidentally doing drugs, we have seen her start to develop a little bit more of an edge and cross the lines of sanity.

This season of “Awkward” will wrap up on MTV come next week, but it should return at some point in the spring for what is its final season. We’ll have more on that soon, but we’ll start with a review for the fall finale.

What do you think about this honor, or do you really even care about the Golden Globes? As always, the comments await!
