‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, and Jane – Lisbon dynamics
Is anything so cut-and-dry when it comes to the Jane – Lisbon relationship on “The Mentalist“? Hardly. Based on some of the information that we have today, we basically have even more evidence that there will be some differences of opinion when it comes to the couple almost right from the start.
Per a new report from TV Guide, the new season is going to start off with Robin Tunney’s character being the one who specifically wants to keep the relationship under wraps … at least at first. She is the one overtly concerned with what will happen if people are to find out, and in an attempt to be a good, respectful boyfriend, Jane goes along with it.
However, Simon Baker’s character is a guy who has been known to run a few trick plays from time to time, and also change his mind. Apparently, it could be the return of Agent Pike (Pedro Pascal) to the area that changes what he thinks a little bit. Suddenly, he could find himself more in the camp of wanting to come clean. Then again, wouldn’t he? More than likely, Pike already knows that Jane and Lisbon are together, since Teresa had to tell him something when she broke up with him following the events of the finale.
For those wondering, this report also makes it sound like Jane and Lisbon had a little bit of time off following the events of “Blue Bird,” which means that they may have gone through one of their happiest periods as a new couple before the action this season even begins.
