‘Elementary’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Sherlock Holmes and turtle power

ElementaryIf there was ever a reason to be feeling completely frustrated working for Sherlock Holmes, we feel like Kitty Winter sums it up in the latest sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode of “Elementary.” Even though he in theory is healthy enough, even with an injured finger, to take part in some fairly-menial tasks, he still has her perform some of them anyway.

Specifically, we are speaking here about none other than a pet turtle. In the process of watching him eat (one of the most oddly entertaining things that we have seen), Holmes asks Kitty to go and deliver him over to Watson in Chelsea. She, of course, is not entirely pleased about the idea.

Are you surprised that the Kitty character is still around and in this role as Sherlock’s new assistant? We are to an extent, but we also understand why they have kept this sort of arrangement for as long as they have. It helps to further establish Watson as an independent character, and it also makes it so that if Sherlock wants things to be as they once her, he has to truly earn it. That means finding a way to showcase not only kindness, but a little bit more respect.

There is going to be an interesting case at the center of this episode, as well, and it will be one that revolves around artificial intelligence. Finally, something that Sherlock can relate to! Only kidding, but there are times in which he does seem like he has some robot qualities to him.
