‘The Walking Dead’ season 5: Emily Kinney talks rampant ‘shipping of Beth, other characters

Is there romance in the air for Beth on “The Walking Dead“? There’s no definitive answer to that right now, but the character has definitely been linked to enough people to make you start to ask some of these questions.

The main character that Emily Kinney’s character is paired with is Daryl Dixon, which is understandable given the amount of time that they’ve spent together. However, the actress tells Zap2It in a new interview that she is finding that even the smallest interaction with her character and others is causing the wheels of speculation to go completely out of control:

“I think that it’s interesting that people are so quickly pairing people together when hardly anything will happen. Compared to other shows, all we have to have is a look, and then all of the sudden there’s all this, ‘Oh my God, they must be in love with each other … Someone earlier today asked me about Noah, like, ‘Oh, is there something going on between you two?’ I remember one time I gave Andy [Lincoln] a hug on the show, and it was like, ‘Is anything going on between Beth and Rick?’ Any little interaction, people eat it up because that is what life’s about.”

The first priority for Beth is obviously that she finds a way to escape her situation in the hospital, and maybe after that, she can start to figure out whether she wants to go and who she wants to spend time with. All we know is that Daryl Dixon’s sexuality is not a subject that comes up this season … so don’t expect any hookups there in the near future.
