MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 19 review: How Jenna found a way to help Matty

Tonight, “Awkward” season 4 had its penultimate episode of season 4, and trouble was the name of the game for almsot every character.

As always, we start things off right now when it comes to Jenna Hamilton. After she thought that Matty had already told the truth to Gabby about their hookup, it turned out that this was not entirely the case. Therefore, she ran the risk of ruining everyone’s spring break, and had her entire friendship at risk.

It took Jenna blowing up on her mom over the whole college issue, and in turn receiving a timely pep talk from her dad, before she finally started to turn things around and saw the light as to the right thing to do. She wasn’t taking enough stock in why Matty went to her specifically about his biological parents, and that was because their relationship was still cherished, but different.

In the end, she made the move to look up who Matty’s biological father may be, she may have found an answer … and that looks to be a perfect segue into the last episode of the season.

Meanwhile, the Sadie story was almost a bizarre sort of morality play, where she tried to make an example out of her nastiness by airing a really nasty version of her scholarship video to the school. It was a little hokey, but it is Jake. This sort of the kind of thing that he does the majority of the time.

In the end, “Awkward” pulled at the heartstrings, and also made us excited for the finale. Well done. Grade: B+.
