‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Fifth Harmony now confirmed to perform ‘Sledgehammer’
We brought you yesterday the news that Fifth Harmony was coming on board “The X Factor” UK, and now we have at least one other tiny detail about their upcoming performance.
In a post on Twitter, band member AllyBrooke Hernandez confirmed that the song they’ll be doing on the show is “Sledgehammer,” and you can already pre-order your copy across the pond. This is a big get for the band, and also the show in many ways. It comes after a lengthy campaign by fans to get them to appear, and Simon Cowell is thankfully showing some support towards a band who debuted on the American version of the show. He hasn’t exactly spent a whole lot of time talking about the acts other than these ladies recently.
Ultimately, what Fifth Harmony has done in the two years since being on the show is really work their butts off at figuring out what sort of band they want to be, and then also touring, perfecting their chemistry with each other, and then going hard in the studio. This is why they haven’t put out a full album yet, though one is coming early next year.
Some acts that have appeared on “The X Factor” this season include Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Sam Smith, and the show’s own judge Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini. Overall, that is a pretty wonderful collection of people to be associated with.
We’re going to have some more news leading up to this performance, not just from Fifth Harmony, but also from the contestants who are a still a part of the show. Among the groups remaining are eight-piece boy band Stereo Kicks and Only the Young, a group of men and women who have momentum on their side.
