‘The X Factor’ UK notes: Stevi Ritchie, Paul Akister, and Jay James reaction
Reading some of the stories that are out there about the “X Factor” elimination from Sunday are certainly entertaining, and there is one primary reason for that: Despite the press stating that Paul Akister was the undisputed favorite to be leaving the competition going into this weekend, everyone is acting shocked that it actually happened. Did nobody read any of the stories beforehand?
Anyway, we have a variety of different stories and reactions coming in right now from across the internet, beginning of course with Paul himself, who vows to keep at it despite the early, emotional elimination.
Paul was never going to win this season, and that is why we’re not too emotional over seeing this exit happen.
As for Jay James, he wrote a post on Facebook congratulating Paul, but was happy that he has still managed to survive for another week after struggling so much with vocal problems this past week:
“A massive thank you to absolutely every single wonderful human that voted and supported me this weekend! Hands down you’re the reason I’m still in this competition.
“Absolutely devastated to lose Paul, such a rare talent & literally one of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard. I’m lucky & blessed to fight another day, after this that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. #timetostartpunching … I spoke to Simon he’s chuffed & said James Arthur went bottom 2 at similar point & won it! #motivation!!!! #WEGOAGAIN xxx.”
The most interesting comments actually came from Stevi Ritchie, who was grateful to his supporters for keeping him safe, but at the same time felt a little “guilty” and emotional over losing someone he knows to be one of the best singers in the competition.
To be fair to Stevi, the best thing that he can probably hope for now is to be eliminated soon. He doesn’t want to become the contestant everyone hates for staying around.
