‘The X Factor’ notes: Stereo Kicks’ intruder Lee Nelson, Paul Akister, Jay James
Before you get around to the latest “X Factor” results show on Sunday night, we are back to keep one tradition going: Sharing some of the latest headlines when it comes to the show!
We have to start here with the breaking news from yesterday, and that was the intruder who very much decided to make Stereo Kicks feel not alone during their “We Are Not Alone” performance. It’s a good thing that he was not a violent person, and was simply none other than a comedian by the name of Lee Nelson. This was obviously one of those moves for attention; after all, he confirmed it was him in a post on his Twitter account after the show.
In the end, the guy is still a jerk. No changing anything that he’s a comic trying to do something silly.
Paul Akister versus Simon Cowell – Can Simon’s words really cause someone to lose the competition? Paul seems to think so, given that he still seems to be fuming from what the music mogul said last week.
He addressed it in full Sunday during an interview with the Daily Star:
“It wasn’t fair what Simon did. He could have come up to me one to one and I could have explained myself. I hope it hasn’t ruined my chances of winning. What Simon said and what was shown on the VT could sway people’s opinions. I understand it didn’t look good at all but that’s not the truth.”
Ultimately, we don’t feel like Paul is a diva, or that he isn’t enjoying the experience. He just needs to figure out how to project that better. Rather than looking like a guy trying to be a star, his performances feel like a really good performer on a singing competition.
Jay James concerns – While we feel like we’re most-likely going to lose someone like Paul or one of the groups tonight (with Stevi Ritchie also a slightly possibility), we’re worried about Jay James. He went early in the show, and his “The Show Must Go On” was marred by his illness. Go vote for him! He’s got the talent.
