‘Girls’ season 4 trailer: The latest Lena Dunham, Allison Williams hijinks

While tomorrow may see the premiere of many HBO shows, including “The Newsroom” season 3, you are going to have to wait until Sunday, January 11 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time to see the fourth season of “Girls” come on the air.

Based on the first official trailer below, it already looks as though Hannah Horvath and the rest of the main characters are going to have their hands full with a variety of different challenges. For Lena Dunham’s character, this includes her being in Iowa, where she is trying to establish a better name for herself at a writers’ workshop. Unfortunately, she seems to be in some ways struggling to have people separate her from some of the work that she writes. We do wonder if there is a certain art-imitates-life aspect to this, given that we very much are aware of how many people out there seem automatically ready to connect Dunham to the character she plays on the show.

Meanwhile, for some of the other characters, secrets could be the name of the game. Namely, Marnie (Allison Williams) is going to carry on a secret relationship with her musical collaborator Desi, and this is probably not going to end particularly well for either one of them.

Possibly the character we’re most curious about right now is actually not one who is specifically mentioned much in this new trailer: Ray. He has had some sort of feelings for both Marnie and Shoshanna, even though he doesn’t exactly have a whole lot in common with either one of them. Where will this story take him?
