‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 6 reaction: Jessica Capshaw on huge Arizona decision
Apparently, “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11 is not slowing things down in the slightest when it comes to giving Dr. Arizona Robbins quite a bit to do. It was not that long ago when “Bend & Break” forced her to realize that Callie didn’t want to be with her anymore, and now, she has to figure out whether or not to have Dr. Herman (Geena Davis) teach her before she dies.
As Jessica Capshaw tells The Hollywood Reporter, this is not a choice that can be taken lightly. Arizona realizes that learning the skills that Herman has could be a huge advancement in her career. However, what it would it do to stunt some of her own personal goals? The character has to not only thing about that, but also whether or not it is even a good idea to have someone working at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital with only a handful of months still to live:
“I think she feels a huge amount of pressure because she’s torn between having the keys to the kingdom of this woman’s mind and learning about all this stuff that she wants to learn about … But she knows that if she gets the keys to the kingdom, it comes at a price: if she doesn’t tell people that Dr. Herman has this brain tumor, she might be putting people at risk.”
Hopefully, Arizona will figure this out within the next couple of episodes, mostly because we will find this story to be significantly more interesting when it goes by at a pretty brisk pace. The last thing that we ultimately want to see right now is for it to drag on.
