‘White Collar’ season 6 spoilers: Creator on Pink Panthers, life after series finale
In just a little under 24 hours from today, “White Collar” will be back for its sixth and final season. What’s not to be thrilled about when it comes to this? The only thing to be bummed about is that we’re getting only six episodes as opposed to the 13 that many were hoping for.
One aspect of the show that is particularly interesting right now is the role of the Pink Panthers, a criminal organization that Neal Caffrey tries to infiltrate right from the get-go this year. If you want some additional information, just see what creator Jeff Eastin said on the group in a TVLine interview:
“The Pink Panthers are actually based on a real group. We’d actually toyed with this idea earlier in the run of the show. We thought it would be a really cool way to put Neal up against bad guys who were his equal. The thing about the Panthers that will figure heavily into the end of the series will be that these guys never, ever forget a slight. So if you double-cross them, they go after you and they go after everybody you know about or have ever met and/or are related to. So that’s the other big part of it, that these guys are probably the most dangerous group that Peter and Neal have ever gone up against.”
For those curious, Eastin also added that it was still very well possible that anything is possible for the show beyond the finale, but to be honest, we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves here. This is largely something that many beloved shows ponder about, from “Chuck” to “Psych” to other fan favorites.
