‘NCIS’ season 12 spoilers: ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ alum to be mystery Gibbs ex-wife
Long before “NCIS” season 12 even premiered, showrunner Gary Glasberg had made it fairly clear that at some point soon, we would be meeting Agent Gibbs’ second ex-wife Rebecca on the show.
Well, we finally know that this role has been cast. Per TVLine, we are going to see none other than “Star Trek: Voyager” alum Jeri Ryan in the role, and we wonder if she’ll be dyeing her hair red in order to accommodate what we already know about the character … which is really almost all we know about her.
In a statement, Glasberg had the following to say about this particular new addition:
“After 12 seasons there was still one ex-wife to cast opposite Gibbs and we found her in the beautiful and talented Jeri Ryan. We’re all very excited to have Jeri join us for a storyline that’s chock full of surprises.”
This episode will air early next year, so there will be no reason to wait for a particularly long time to see what she brings to the table. Meanwhile, the other long-standing guest appearance in Bishop’s husband will happen before that; Jamie Bamber of “Battlestar Galactica” is playing that role, and he will turn up before the end of the fall.
Ultimately, the question that we are left to wonder at the moment is this: Who knew that the folks over at “NCIS” liked to cast so many people with space-opera connections for some of their roles? Next thing we know, we’ll be seeing someone from “Firefly” jumping over.

I’m so sick of Gibbs’s ex-wives. I noticed too that we have (yet another) Gibbs centric episode for the first new January episode after Christmas which is traditionally the most watched episode of the season. Why don’t they just let the rest of the actors go since they write nothing but super Gibbs after super Gibbs focused episodes? The team is gone. It’s ALL about Gibbs and I’m so bored with it.

Actually like Jeri Ryan. I think she will do a good job.
