ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Is there another Olivia Pope love interest coming?

Even though Olivia Pope on “Scandal” may already have as love interests the likes of both Fitzgerald Grant and Jake Ballard, there is now someone else that she really should be looking out for a little later this season: Ian. There is no guarantee that he and Kerry Washington’s character will be looking up, but file this individual right now under “characters to watch.”

So what can we tell you about this guy at the moment? Think along the lines of the following. According to a new report from E! News, Ian is described as being both “charismatic”and “intelligent,” and these are two things that we definitely know already that the character is fond of.

Based on where the show is in the process of things right now, it is probably pretty safe to make the assumption that we are probably not going to meet this character until at some point in the second part of the season. The finale for 2014 airs on November 20, and presumably new episodes will start fairly early in the new year … but given that there is no confirmed date for that, it could very well change, especially if ABC is committed to airing the show in batches again.

One way or another, it is at least nice to know that the producers are still as interested as ever in making this show good and complicated! “Scandal” will most likely never be any other way.
