‘Sherlock’ season 4 spoilers: Mark Gatiss on plan to raise anticipation

Sherlock season 3The fourth season of “Sherlock” is not going to be airing on the BBC for quite a long time moving forward, but is that any reason to not be excited now? We don’t think so!

One other thing to be aware of during this impossibly-long wait is merely the notion that the show’s producers are very well aware of the sort of expectations that are out there. They saw the Emmy victories, and they know that the reviews are very strong.

Well, show executive producer Mark Gatiss says that he, Steven Moffat, and everyone else on board are going to do all they can to make sure this is worth the wait. Speaking to Radio Times in a new promotional interview, here is what he had to say:

“What we want to do for a fourth series is match [series three], but it’s not a question of saying, ‘Well we need a baddie on that scale [of Charles Augustus Magnussen].’ It’s about trying to find stories that have that kind of scale to them.”

Unfortunately, you are still going to be waiting for many months still to even learn a thing or two about what is happening when it comes to even filming. The first episode will air on Christmas Day 2015 in Great Britain, and then there will be three more in early 2016 presumably. There is no word at all at the moment on when these stories will cross over to American audiences, but we cannot imagine it taking too much longer.
