‘Elementary’ season 3, episode 2 preview: What lies ahead for Jonny Lee Miller, cast?
Tonight’s season 3 premiere of “Elementary” was in a word awkward, and the largest reason for that revolved mostly around having to wait so long into the episode to actually see the man at the center of everything in Sherlock Holmes. When he finally surfaced, he had a new partner in Kitty Winter, and with that came a whole serious of new challenges for himself in New York City. Also, Watson had in some ways occupied his old position.
Now, things are starting to become a little more normal, at least in that Sherlock is back on the case solving murders. Unfortunately for all, the tension between Kitty and Joan could be such that it ends up derailing things for all parties involved very quickly. Just take a look at the attached synopsis for some further information:
“When Holmes and Watson join forces on a double homicide, Sherlock’s new apprentice, Kitty, threatens the investigation when she allows her jealousy of Sherlock and Joan’s work rapport to override her better judgment.”
If there is something more that we want to see on the show, it mostly comes from the avenue of “reasons to feel surprised.” The show needs to have a few more jaw-droppers, and not walk in such a straight line with many other crime shows. For example, we assumed by the second episode that Sherlock would start to be settling into more of a groove, even if his partner situation is not entirely worked out just yet.
