‘Sons of Anarchy’ series finale: Creator Kurt Sutter returns after appendix removed
For all of those wanting an update in regards to the “Sons of Anarchy” series finale, here is it: Creator / showrunner Kurt Sutter is back in the director’s chair.
As we reported earlier this week, frequent show director and executive producer Paris Barclay stepped into the role for the few days that Kurt was out after emergency surgery to get his appendix removed. Just in case the last week of filming was not stressful enough!
Well, Sutter posted in the Instagram photo below that he is back at it, and there is only a short period of time left before the show is done completely. This is obviously an episode that is especially close to the creator, given that he also wrote it, and is an ending that he may have had floating around in his head for some time.
Even though this episode may be filming now, you’re still going to be waiting many more weeks before seeing it on the air. This will be the season of “lasts” for every person affiliated with the show. This week marks the last time they will film on location, and then you’ll have the last edits, the last sound mixes, the last submissions to the network, and ultimately the last time that it will air. This is probably going to be a time for huge ratings, but also heavy emotion given how tight the cast of the show has become since the very beginning. This is something that has been apparent in such moments as the death of Opie.
