‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 5 spoilers: Candice Accola, Nina Dobrev in crazy promo

The CW has just revealed their longer promo for Thursday night’s new “Vampire Diaries” episode, and based on the what it has in store below, it feels like there is quite a bit to look forward to within “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here.”

The biggest thing to take note of first and foremost, though, is this: We’re getting closer to seeing the characters all collectively celebrate Homecoming! You would think that this would be a super-wonderful occasion, but based on what we see below, it soon turns out to be anything but in the end. We have violence, surprises, and Caroline (Candice Accola) having to act as a vampire mentor of sorts.

As for Elena (Nina Dobrev), what we are mostly curious of is to see whether or not there are any long-lasting implications that come from her decision recently to allow herself to know that she loved Damon, even if she does not want to get all of her memories back. In a way, this enables her to look towards the future, while at the same time not really having to attach herself too firmly from her past.

Still, we feel like it really has to be a matter of time before this starts to come back to haunt her in some way. This is not the sort of thing that you can just run from forever, especially in the event Damon eventually resurfaces in the area (which really does have to happen eventually).
