‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Taylor Kitsch speculates on future with show
While HBO confirmed not too long ago that both Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell are for sure in the second season of “True Detective,” one of the other potential cast members is still waiting for confirmation in Taylor Kitsch.
The actor and former “Friday Night Lights” star has basically been circled for a role for well over a month now, but for whatever unknown reason, HBO has been somewhat hesitant to just put out the press release making it clear. Based on what we are also hearing right now, it certainly seems as though Taylor is just as anxious as anyone to finally have the cat out of the bag.
Speaking to “Access Hollywood” recently, Kitsch confirmed that for now, he is only “rumored” to be on the show … but also insinuated that he would be finding out for sure about his status in the very near future.
Ultimately, we feel like this is almost destined to happen. There hasn’t been any real talk about him not being a part of it, and this is not an Elisabeth Moss sort of situation where we’ve heard of a number of other people all going out and auditioning for the role. Moss would never even say if she was really approached, which is also a big difference between the two.
The one thing that we do feel is that created Nic Pizzolatto and the network do need to make their decisions very clear, very soon, since they are otherwise going to run the risk of getting viewers a little too bored with the wait. At the moment, we feel like the second season will premiere in either the summer or the fall.
