‘Longmire’ season 4 notes: Stampede updates, charity, and more
As Adam Bartley (The Ferg) notes on his Twitter account (see below), there’s a changing of the hashtags tonight to #Longmire4 from the standard #LongLiveLongmire, though you can still use that one if you want.
Join us TONIGHT!!! For the LONGMIRE STAMPEDE! Use new hashtag #Longmire4 for that hour! Let's ride! 6 pacific / 9 eastern #LongLiveLongmire

This is a particularly smart move to change the hashtags around, and probably should be done for every new stampede, for the reason of Trending Topic algorithms. While we’re not going to claim to be an expert on this subject, it is far easier to trend something if it is an all-new hashtag that has not spiked in popularity before versus something that has. This is something that Twitter implemented in their system along time ago, when things like “Justin Bieber” and “Pretty Little Liars” were trending almost every day and they wanted to mix things up to properly show things rising and falling in popularity.
Also, writer Tony Tost has another interesting suggestion, which is noted below:
Love the weekly #LongLiveLongmire stampedes. I wonder, though: should folks think about doing it the same time/day each week? @LongmirePosse

If the #LongLiveLongmire stampede is every Mon night, then it could build by word of mouth. If it changes time/day, I don't know if it can.

We agree with Tost that consistency is good for getting those involved, but finding the right time for a stampede is a delicate formula. There may not be a complete solution to it. We like the idea of there being one every Monday, though at the same time we’re glad for one Friday. Maybe we’re just greedy like that.
Finally … Head out to the Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City on Sunday if you want to see Bartley and his fellow “Longmire” co-star Cassidy Freeman bowling for a good cause. They and many other familiar faces will be bowling to raise money in the fight against child abuse. You can read more about this, and how to donate / attend, over at the link here.
This Sunday I'll be bowling with @Adam_Bartley for more that just fun….come out and join us! https://t.co/2nqnnu00KE
