‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 5: HBO release tribute videos to dead characters

If you love “Boardwalk Empire,” then you may even be still reeling from some of the shockers that took place on this past new episode. Specifically, we saw the departure of a pair of characters important to the key HBO series. (Of course, there are some massive spoilers ahead.)

Sunday night, we said goodbye to a pair of characters in Van Alden and Chalky who have been a part of the show for a very long time. They also died in very different ways. For Chalky, he clearly saw the writing on the wall, and he made a sacrifice; however, he did it after losing so much in his life, and perhaps wondering, to reference “Mad Men,” that the best things in life are free.

While the death of Van Alden was somewhat shocking, we admit that we’re probably the more emotionally choked-up over Chalky … even though we have a feeling that many more moments of sadness are coming. Just look at the history that Nucky Thompson has over the years, and some of the bad things that he has done. It’s possible that he could manage to squirm his way out of any difficult situations, but it will be hard when things are going to get so much more from here on out.

Of course, we are going to have some more news related to the show moving forward, so be on the lookout for that and so much more. Hopefully, some more associated with the show will also have a chance to speak out.
